Nepal earthquake

Nepal earthquake

MCC is currently working on the details of our response to the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that has struck an area between the capital Kathmandu, and the city of Pokhara, Nepal. At this point we know that our initial response will include food and shelter support in remote areas. We are accepting donations and ask you to keep all of the people of Nepal in your prayers.

Relief funds

Relief funds

The unusually high number of emergencies this year has put a strain on MCC's resources and ability to respond to disasters. We are low on funds and out of relief kits, hygiene kits and blankets.

Syria and Iraq crisis

Syria and Iraq crisis

In Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria, MCC is responding to the practical needs of refugees and people displaced, often repeatedly, by violence from the Syrian War and the invasion of the group calling itself the Islamic State.

"Please don't forget us in your prayers," pleads Pastor Ibrahim Nsier, who uses MCC support to help meet basic needs in Aleppo.

South Sudan relief

South Sudan relief

An estimated 4.9 million people need assistance because of the ongoing crisis in South Sudan. More than 800,000 people have been displaced, and another 250,000 have left South Sudan for neighboring countries.

MCC's response includes food for displaced people as well as training in trauma healing. We will also be sending relief kits, hygiene kits and blankets.

Relief and hygiene kits

Relief and hygiene kits

MCC urgently needs 2,000 relief kits and 8,000 hygiene kits. Relief kits provide valuable supplies to families whose lives have been disrupted by war or disaster. Hygiene kits give people the supplies they need to stay healthy.

In times of need, these kits provide basic necessities like towels, bar soap, toothbrushes and nail clippers, while also reminding people their needs are not forgotten.
