MCC responds to food crisis in Sahel

The United Nations says 15 million people in the Sahel face a food crisis. MCC is responding in this region along the southern edge of the Sahara.

Celebrating 40 years

In 1972, Sara Stoesz (left) and Linie Friesen were part of a group of four women who opened a thrift shop in Altona, Manitoba. This marked the beginning of a network of over 100 shops in Canada and the U.S. that have contributed millions of dollars to MCC. Last year, the 56 shops in Canada contributed $7.2 million to MCC.

Children care centre

 

Learn about a centre in Durban, South Africa, that was started by refugee women to care for preschool children. The centre, which serves refugee and South African families, is supported by MCC's Global Family education sponsorship program.
