Young adults serve with MCC
Winnipeg, Man. – In August, MCC commissioned more than 53 young adults for one-year assignments through its SALT – Serving and Learning Together – program for people age 18 to 27 from Canada and the U.S. who volunteer outside both countries. They completed a week-long orientation at MCC’s Welcoming Place, Akron, in August.
MCC, a worldwide ministry of Anabaptist churches, shares God’s love and compassion for all in the name of Christ by responding to basic human needs and working for peace and justice. MCC staff usually work in partnership with local churches and community organizations. Each year about 200 people begin MCC assignments. Currently, there are 1,100 MCC workers in 48 countries. For more information on MCC, visit mcc.org.
