Advocacy for People on the Move
One hundred years ago, MCC was formed in faith to help people in crisis and dealing with displacement. Today, we are working hard to live up to this legacy in response to COVID-19. When crises like these occur, the needs of vulnerable and displaced families become even more pronounced, whether at home or around the world.
Peacebuilding to Address Forced Migration
All over the world, people are on the move. Over 79.5 million people are currently forcibly displaced from their homes. In 2018 alone, there were 28 million new internal displacements across 148 countries and territories. Eighty percent of the world’s displaced remain in neighboring countries in the global south. They have no prospective of either going home or resettling in a third country.
No Way to Treat a Child
Every year, the Israeli military prosecutes hundreds of Palestinian children from the occupied West Bank in military courts. At any one time, more than 300 children – some as young as 12 years of age – are held in military detention. They are mostly charged with throwing stones.
