As people of faith, Mennonite Central Committee is committed to addressing the legacy of harm done to Indigenous Peoples by churches and governments, and to forging right relationships. MCC’s advocacy efforts arise out of our program work – more specifically, from the call of partners that we work with in Canada and around the world.
As of 21 June 2021, Bill C-15, the federal bill to implement the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People (UNDRIP) in Canadian law, has received Royal Assent. With this news, we are in the process of discerning what meaningful advocacy around this work looks like. Stay tuned for future engagement in the work of Indigenous justice!
