Grand Staircase, Manitoba Legislative Building

The Along the Road to Freedom exhibition hosts a refugee storytelling event featuring personal stories from women in the Along the Road to Freedom paintings and more recently arrived women from the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

The program opening will include a special Indigenous welcome from Mike Calder and the Brown Bear Spirit Singers and music by the Riel Gentlemen's Choir.

Following the event you are welcome to see the exhibit in the Manitoba Legislative Building's Keystone Gallery.

Along the Road to Freedom is a project of the Mennonite Heritage Centre Gallery. Through the paintings of Ray Dirks, the exhibit tells the stories of Mennonite women who led their families out of persecution and suffering to lives of freedom and peace.

MCC Manitoba is a sponsor of this event.
