About this event
Learning the skills of peace is a lifelong adventure. It is a journey, and none of us are experts in all types of conflicts.
Wherever you are in the process of learning the skills of peacemaking, the latest MCC program will help you to further develop and apply these skills within your home, work and community.
If you would like to gain practical hands-on skills to engage in conversations that link your faith with peacemaking, this course is for you.
Together we will be engaging in discussion, skill-building sessions and ongoing reflection to connect learnings to our faith, Scripture and Jesus as our foundation for peace.
Among other course resources, we will use Reconcile: Conflict Transformation for Ordinary Christians, by John Paul Lederach. Participants will purchase their own copy of the book online prior to the course's start. It can be purchased from Menno Media, Amazon or Chapters/Indigo.
In the course, we'll cover topics that include:
- Understanding your conflict style
- Reconciliation and Conflict Transformation
- Peace and Dialogue Skills
Time commitment: Learning sessions take place every other Wednesday evening from January 18, 2023 to May 10, 2023. Readings from the resource materials and short journaling assignments are assigned.
Participants will need access to the internet for Zoom videoconferencing and can engage in weekly chats via What’s App.
