As refugee numbers and needs continue to grow, the Quito Mennonite Church wants to expand its ministry to people arriving in Quito from Venezuela, Colombia and other parts of the world – providing a space of relief, acceptance and building a peaceful community for all. With your support, up to 60 families at a time will receive a monthly food basket for a period of six months. Each family is visited in their home to verify their information, evaluate emerging needs and supply additional aid as needed, including blankets, mattresses, stoves, gas tanks, reusable cloth diapers, small business grants, rent assistance, medications or school supplies.

In addition, monthly workshops for women, children, and youth help address the emotional and spiritual needs of refugees and Ecuadorian families. The workshops are attended by a mix of Ecuadorian and refugee families to encourage integration and exchanges of experience. Some topics are managing trauma and stress, resolving conflicts without violence and creating income-generating handicrafts.
