Good News in Challenging Times

You are invited to join us for the MCC BC Annual General Meeting on October 15 from 9 am to 2 pm at Emmanuel Mennonite Church (3417 Clearbrook Rd, Abbotsford). Join us as we review the past year, and hear updates from our work in Ukraine, the Global Hunger Crisis and the work we are doing here at home through our Local Programs.

“how beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, and bring good tidings …” Isaiah 52:7

It is also a time of accountability to our members. In addition to hearing reports and stories of hope, we will also review financial statements, elect Board Members and review other standard business items.

Register online here.

Early bird registration is $10 ($15 after October 7). Includes a complimentary lunch.

Keynote Speaker: Katie and Andrew Geddert

Katie and Andrew served with MCC in Ukraine as Peace Resource Persons (2015-2017) and then as Country Representatives (2017-2020). Katie has spent most of her career working in refugee resettlement agencies as an ESL teacher and citizenship program specialist. Andrew currently works as a psychologist in a center that provides services to immigrants and asylum-seekers. Andrew and Katie are actively involved at Living Water Community Church in Chicago, a church in which four language groups worship together every week. They have two children - Micah (age 8) and Layla (age 4). Since June 2022 Andrew has been working remotely for the MCC Ukraine program as Trauma Support and Resourcing Specialist.

Homelessness
