Join us for the MCC BC AGM on November 7, 2020, via 'Zoom Webinar' as we look back on the past year, report on how MCC is responding to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, celebrate 100 years of service, and look to the future. The official meeting starts at 9 am, but we ask that you log on at 8:40 am to sort out any technical difficulties and to receive instructions for the meeting.
MCC Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
100 years ago MCC was created to respond to the desperate calls for help from Mennonites facing a revolution, conflict, and famine in southern Russia. Thousands were forced to flee their homes and many came to Canada to start a new life. Today there are over 70 million people around the world who have been forced to flee due to persecution, conflict, and natural disasters. MCC was born in response to conflict and hunger 100 years ago and continues to serve uprooted people in over 50 countries around the world today.
In Colossians 3:12 the Scriptures call us to “clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, and humility” and to serve others as an expression of God’s love. This has been the story of MCC for the past 100 years and continues to be the unfolding story of MCC in many forgotten places around the world. Join as we celebrate the past, report on the past year, and look to the future.
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will follow the MCC story of compassion and service over the past year. It is also a time of accountability to our members. In addition to hearing reports and stories of hope, we will also review financial statements, elect Board Members, and review other standard business items.
