Thursday, October 11, 2018 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

We are excited to present an evening of stories of from Syria featuring Rahaf Abdo!

As the crisis in Syria worsened in 2012, Rahaf Abdo gave up her position as a lecturer in the engineering department of her local university to provide food to displaced people as a full-time volunteer. In 2013, Abdo's hometown of Deir Attieh came under siege. Abdo says, "Sometimes I think I can't live here anymore. I get panic attacks because of what I've seen," but she finds meaning in helping out her neighbours. Six years later, Abdo continues to provide food to displaced people through MCC's local partner Forum for Development, Culture and Dialogue (FDCD).

Join us at Sam's Place on October 11 to hear Abdo share about the current context in Syria, her work with FDCD and its impact. To learn more about Rahaf check out this story.

We have met seating capacity for this event and registration has closed. Thanks for your interest!

This event will be co-hosted by MCC and Canadian Foodgrains Bank.
