The shop is a ministry in and of itself, providing low cost goods to people in our community, international and local aid, good stewardship, environmental care, a sense of community to volunteers and the people we serve. This is a full-time 40 hrs/week position for up to 14 weeks (depending on funding) that requires flexibility to work on Saturdays and reports to the Shop Manager.
This role will process and price various categories of donations and assist with the merchandising of product onto the sales floor. They will assist on the retail floor with customer service and operate the cash register regularly. They will also help with receiving donated items as needed. Position involves working in a respectful and caring way alongside volunteers with special needs, as well as a significant senior volunteer population, enabling for enriching connections.
The role is subject to government funding under the Canada Summer Jobs Program. All participants need to be under the age of 30, and be Canadian citizens/Canadian permanent residents or hold Canadian refugee protection status in country.
