The Mission MCC Thrift Shop is actively engaged in receiving and selling used clothing, small housewares, books, toys and collectibles with all proceeds designated to support the relief and development work of Mennonite Central Committee.
This position involves responsibility for donation processing, operation of furniture sales floor, and merchandising. The position provides practical, and hands-on experience that would be an asset to anyone working towards a diploma in a business-related course of study, someone considering a career in social services, or a student studying not-for-profit management.
This is a full-time position (40 hours a week) for up to a possible 16 weeks, requiring flexibility to work on Saturdays. This position is subject to government funding under the Canada Summer Jobs Program. All participants do need to be under the age of 30, be Canadian citizens/Canadian permanent residents or hold Canadian refugee protection status in country, as well as be a full-time student during current semester and intend to be a full-time student in the fall semester.
