The shop is a ministry in and of itself, providing low cost goods to people in our community, international and local aid, good stewardship, environmental care, a sense of community to volunteers and the people we serve. This is a full-time 40 hrs/week position for up to 14 weeks (depending on funding) that requires flexibility to work on Saturdays and reports to the Shop Manager.
This position assists on the shop’s truck with picking up and delivering furniture; Assists in moving furniture in the shop and setting up attractive furniture displays. This role will assist customers in the furniture area in a manner that is caring, respectful and culturally appropriate; Assists with special need requests and with loading furniture pieces into vehicles, as needed. Merchandise other product categories as needed as well as pricing and sorting. Maintain tidy sales floor space and help with cashiering duties when required.
The role is subject to government funding under the Canada Summer Jobs Program. All participants need to be under the age of 30, and be Canadian citizens/Canadian permanent residents or hold Canadian refugee protection status in country.
