This salaried full-time position provides leadership and oversight to the Indigenous Neighbours program including planning, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and budgeting. The Coordinator builds relationships with First Nations communities and other Indigenous leadership and develops community responses based on needs and MCC’s capacity to respond. The Coordinator is responsible for conducting ongoing needs assessment and program development in light of the program’s role and MCC’s strategic plan. The Coordinator works with MCCO Communications staff to promote the program, engage constituency. Various events and activities are planned to promote reconciliation and increase awareness of the history and culture of Indigenous populations in Ontario.
This position is one of several provincial Program Coordinator positions at Mennonite Central Committee Ontario. The Coordinator is Ontario’s liaison with the MCCs in Canada Indigenous Neighbours Network for national coordination and communication. The Coordinator is an active member of MCCO’s Cross Departmental Leaders Team and Program Team. The Coordinator supervises staff and volunteers involved in the Indigenous Neighbours program.
Work location for this role can be flexible, with offices located in Kitchener, St Catharines, and Toronto. Currently we are working remote but are moving to a hybrid working arrangement.
