This salaried part-time position (22.5 hours per week working on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) based out of the Timmins Office, in Treaty # 9 Territory, will combine a general working knowledge of First Nations in Ontario with good communication and organization of an office receptionist for MCC Ontario’s Indigenous Neighbours Program team. In the short term this role will be working remotely.
The Indigenous Neighbours Office Receptionist will provide initial contact with the public, whether by phone, email or in person, and will be in touch with remote First Nations north of Timmins as well as communities and churches located in the Southern tip of Ontario.
This position will play an important role in the creation of the Niska Artisans Hub, which will be a physical and virtual space located at the Timmins office to accommodate Indigenous artisans involving the organizing of supplies, products, the cleaning of the space and hosting artisans. The position will also involve assisting the Program Associate with preparing materials for emergency responses to partners and organizations as well as general building and office maintenance tasks.
This position will also provide general office support to the Indigenous Neighbours Team, by strengthening programming around sustainable food solutions, Niska Artisans, Clean Water in First Nations, and Constituency Engagement.
