This position is supervised by the MCC Area Director for Central, Southern and Northeast Asia. The Representative (Rep) is responsible for administration of the India country program, including projects, staff, and office. This includes leading strategic direction planning processes, managing the country budget, supervising partner relationships, holding the official relationship with government offices and networking with other agencies and organizations, providing overall supervision for staff, and participating in regional leadership team meetings. In addition, the Representative networks with Mennonite, Mennonite Brethren, and Brethren in Christ Churches and the MCSFI (Mennonite Christian Service Fellowship of India). This position will involve a lot of travel within India, much of it on overnight trains. In addition, some international travel is required.
An MCC Rep role may be filled with a married couple sharing the role, with a single person, or with a married candidate whose spouse is not interested in a Rep role, in which case MCC would discuss possible roles for the spouse. MCC will consider a variety of options to support the Rep in their roles and responsibilities, based on the qualified candidates who apply. However, given the size and complexity of the India program and the breadth of the Representative's responsibilities, this position is best filled by spouses who both work full time.
