This 14 week internship will focus on local programs at MCC Alberta, including Refugee Resettlement, Indigenous Neighbors, Restorative Justice, and Peace Programming. This is a flexible role involving research, administrative duties, group facilitation, and event planning that will evolve based on program needs and the intern’s strengths and interests.
This internship is a part of a comprehensive summer internship program designed to give students firsthand experience within a global non-profit in areas related to relief, development, and peace. The intern will be a part of cohort of summer interns who will meet regularly through out the summer to share experiences, learn from each other, and receive ongoing training. The summer will begin with Planting Peace Gathering, a peace conference at Camp Valaqua, followed by the 14 week internship. There may be the option of joining an international learning tour at the conclusion of the internship at the interns own expense.
Position is contingent on external funding, to be confirmed in April. Participants need to be between 15 and 30 years old, be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons who have been granted refugee status in Canada and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
