The MCCS Thrift Shops provide quality used clothing, furniture and appliances at reasonable prices to a growing market. They generate a significant amount of funds for MCC’s relief and development projects. The Shop Assistant will work together with the Manager, Shop staff & volunteers in the overall operation of the Thrift Shop.

MCC Saskatchewan Thrift Shops seek to be a friendly, caring presence in their community, showing value and respect to all. Practicing and promoting faithful stewardship, care for God’s creation and raising funds for MCC are key components of the Thrift Shops.

This position is responsible for a variety of tasks vital to the operation of the Shop, as well as fostering awareness of MCC, and being a peaceful presence in the community. With a flexible schedule; the ability to work a variety of hours, including Saturdays is key.

This is a Canada Summer Jobs funded position, and as such is a term position ending August 26, 2023. To be eligible, candidates must:
-    Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
-    Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
-    Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation& Regulations
