The MCC BC Social Enterprise Director provides leadership and support to 10 MCC BC Thrift Shops & 1 Ten Thousand Villages (TTV) store / seasonal outlets, and the Common Place Cafe. Thrift has over $7 million in annual gross sales with net income of $2 million which supports the relief, development and peace work of this faith-based organization globally and locally. TTV and the Café have approx $700,000 in combined gross sales with the goal of breaking even, both providing social benefits related to job creation globally & locally.
The vision MCC BC is to increase the number of Thrift Shops is to increase the net income from Thrift Shops to support the mission of MCC. The MCC BC Social Enterprise Director is a vital link between the network of MCC BC Thrift Shops and also provides a link of accountability to MCC BC leadership. A key element of this position is in embodying the beliefs, values and mission of MCC while assisting and inspiring shops individually and as a corporate identity in daily operation and in the broader strategies related to marketing, branding, best practice, risk management, customer service, other business practices and ministry to local communities.
The MCC BC Social Enterprise Director reports to the MCC BC Executive Director (CEO) and is a member of the MCC BC Leadership Team, and also works collaboratively with the MCC Thrift Network.
