Want to help raise funds for the work of MCC here in BC and around the world? Host an event with us! Whether it’s a coffee house or a simple lemonade stand, you can help transform the lives of people affected by hunger, poverty and injustice.
Plan your own event, or invite us to set-up shop with you as the co-host. Either way, we'll be happy to support you with resources, event promotion, and logistics.
If you have your own idea, click here to download our booklet on planning a fundraiser, and send an e-mail to Katie Kowalchuk to discuss next steps. Below you'll find some tried and true events that other Committee members have successfully hosted and coordinated.
Art + Coffee Night
Each year, MCC BC develops an exhibit showcasing the work of MCC in light of relevant social issues. This year's exhibit is called "Volvos of Lebanon: Stories of Refugees, Resiliance and Reliable Cars" and delves into the stories that have come as a result of the Syrian Civil War. The evening also includes Fair Trade coffee, tea and chocolate pairings from Ten Thousand Villages. At this event, you'll also be invited to give to the crisis response fund. Great venues for this include: university campuses, churches, and art galleries.
MCC Thrift Shop Pop-Up
Colloquially, MCC is perhaps best known for its amazing thrift shops. Host a curated pop-up shop at your young adults group, church, or university campus. Shop the MCC Thrift Shops ahead of time to pick the best finds, and create a pop-up shop for your peers to peruse. You can pick the project you'd like the funds to go to, as well as what kinds of items you'd like to feature at the shop.
