Material Resources volunteers are the front line of our relief work around the world.  Positions cover areas including receiving, packing and shipping material aid as well as sewing, fabric cutting and teaching skills to create beautiful blankets that are sent to people in crisis.

Be a Walking with People in Poverty Volunteer

Volunteers with the People in Poverty program interested in developing relationships may join with a small group of 2-3 volunteers to form a "Circle of Friends" for an individual as they transition from homelessness and shelter living back into the Waterloo Region community. For the more hands-on volunteer, there is room in the kitchen of The Raw Carrot to work alongside our participants

MCC Canada's Indigenous Neighbours program strives to build respectful relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. Volunteers assist in facilitating opportunities for MCC constituents through the Blanket Exercise and by supporting Indigenous Artisans through the Niska Pop-up Market. In response to COVID-19, our Blanket Exercises are on hold, but we are happy to announce that our Niska program is once again looking for volunteers to help facilitate sales at events as health regulations permit.

Annual relief sales in different regions raise funds for MCC’s work around the world. With quilt and crafts auctions, food and children’s activities, sales provide a concrete way for church members to learn about and support MCC's work.

Seed is a two-year program that brings together young adults ages 20-30 from around the world to reflect, serve and work for peace.

Seek

The Seek program will help you discover the beauty and brokenness of the world, while living in community and ministering to others. This six-month discipleship program will help you learn more deeply what it means to be an Anabaptist follower of Jesus.
