For the Lord your God...loves the strangers, providing them food and clothing. You shall also love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

~ Deuteronomy 10:18-19

The Blended Sponsorship Program is an undertaking where both Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and MCC, through its constituent groups (CG), contribute to the financial support of refugees. Under this model, CIC provides refugees with six months of income support and the CG covers the remaining six months.

MCC and the CG also have the responsibility to provide settlement and emotional support for the 12 month sponsorship term. The refugees sponsored under this program are eligible for a full 12 months of Interim Federal Health Care coverage.

The Canadian government will resettle 800-1000 Visa Office Referred refugees through this program in 2015.

For more information please see this detailed overview of the project.

Sponsorship offers peace and stability for refugees who have known only instability and strive.
