The CASA program is a service and learning opportunity focused on poverty and homelessness. Opportunities include: cleaning, preparing/serving meals, sorting clothes, attending workshops/presentations, and visiting agencies. Each agency offers different experiences based on the services they provide and their availability.
CASA is offered for youth and young adult groups throughout the year upon request and depending on availability. MCC coordinates schedules (usually 1-5 days) and provides debriefing time as needed. Participants should be flexible and willing to serve and learn.
$25/person/day (for both participants and leaders)
We partner with various agencies working to address poverty and homelessness in the Calgary.
Accommodations: local churches, depending on availability.
Meals: Meal costs and food preparation are group’s responsibility.
Transportation: public transit involves walking, busing, and the C-train. Transit fees are covered through the CASA fee.
