Saskatchewan

Meadowgreen is a community in the South West corner of Saskatoon. The neighbourhood is home to close to 4,000 residents, many of whom come to Canada as refugees or immigrants as well as many Aboriginal and Metis families. MCCS’ programming is located along Appleby Drive, a street with 10 large apartment buildings and hundreds of children under the age of 16. Our programming acts as a bridge to the church by offering volunteer and internship opportunities for young adults.

Appleby Kids and Youth Club

  • Appleby Kids Club works with kids between the ages of 3 and 10. We welcome close to 30 children every week. Kids from diverse places like Beardy’s First Nation, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Colombia meet every Wednesday to play games, read bible stories, do crafts and eat together.
  • Appleby Youth Club works with 10 – 15 year olds. It runs every Wednesday and is a drop in for youth in the neighbourhood. We are a welcoming and open place for kids to come be kids.

Bread for Success Homework Help and Nutrition Program:

  • Bread for Success is starting September, 2014 and will work to build learning skills and confidence in youth getting ready to transition into high school.
