MCC BC New Foundations is an intervention to alleviate child poverty among single parents and refugees.

The project aims to nurture:

  • Hope - for the participants through its peer support group and one-on-one counseling
  • Health - by working with the participants to create awareness of resources in the community and provide support to participants to access health related resources.
  • Security - by providing information to the participants about security related resources, and by providing opportunities to learn from one another about how to reduce vulnerabilities.
  • Education - through peer support groups, one-on-one counseling, and financial and consumer literacy training
