Playing time:
Because of MCC partner, Maasai Integrated Development Initiative, MIDI, children are spending more time in school.

Water is life-giving, and in more ways than are sometimes apparent. Manteya Mamayio, a 13-year-old primary school student in Kenya, used to walk seven hours each day, after morning chores, to fill a 20-litre container with water. Since the completion of a sand dam, sponsored by MCC and the Maasai Integrated Developments Initiative, she can now make the round-trip in three hours, allowing her to spend more time in school.
