Nellia Mudenda is a client of the home-based care program through the Riverside Brethren in Christ Church in Choma, Zambia. MCC partners with the BIC Church in Zambia to provide support to those living with HIV. With MCC support, Zambia's Brethren in Christ Church is training church members to reach out to neighbors living with HIV, educating about HIV and teaching those living with the virus the importance of taking medication on time, eating nutritious food and being open with family and friends about their HIV status.

AIDS CARE at The Meeting House

For the sixth year, The Meeting House will partner with Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) to support the work being done in southern Africa to serve those living with HIV/AIDS.

The Meeting House collects funds and AIDS Care kit items which are then sent to MCC’s local partners and used by home-based care workers to provide comfort to people living with HIV/AIDS. They also collect AIDS CARE Cards in the form of monetary donations that support the work of MCC in 14 projects across 6 countries in southern Africa.

“I hope you know…the impact those kits make back home … back there it is a prayer answered from here” Levy Soko, Overseer BIC Church Zambia

Through AIDS CARE Cards and AIDS CARE Kits, care workers are encouraged and equipped and programs are supported that are changing the landscape of HIV/AIDS.

From 2008 to 2014 The Meeting House has collected over 5,700 Aids Care Kits and over 5,300 Aids Care Cards. The goal for 2015 is to collect 750 kits and 2,300 cards!

Our heartfelt gratitude and sincere thanks to The Meeting House for partnering with MCC and helping to bring hope and encouragement to people living with HIV/AIDS.
