Alberta Board Chair Sandra Friesen-Peters
A chairperson has many responsibilities, including organizing and leading meetings, being aware of the many issues within an organization, and keeping informed of the finances.
Not generally included in the job description is running, but that is exactly what MCC Alberta Board Chair Sandra Friesen-Peters is doing! On August 12, Sandra will be participating in the Emperor’s Challenge, a half-marathon held on Babcock Mountain, near Tumbler Ridge, BC. She will run in memory of Samantha Neufeld, a young girl from Sandra’s church community, who passed away in April at the age of ten. All funds raised for her run will support education & peace projects in Kenya.
