Many people will be getting their bikes ready in order to participate in the Ride for Refuge on October 4 all across Canada and the USA, raising millions of dollars to support those who are displaced, vulnerable or exploited in our world. Bill Reimer is one such rider. His passion to support the work of MCC Ontario goes back many years but this year it will take him farther than the normal 100 kms he rides in the one-day event.
Bill left September 25th, from his home in Brampton, ON, and will travel about 2,000 kms and by mid-October, arrive at Tabor College, in Hillsboro, Kansas in time for the college’s homecoming festivities! This has been one of Bill’s bucket list items ever since he graduated from Tabor College in 1972! Bill’s goal is to raise $20,000 in support of MCC Ontario! Bill says his idea sounds crazy but invites others to support his efforts. “I will be putting my butt on the line for 2,000 km! Will you put your wallet on the line and join with me?” Bill’s friend, Jim Senn, took up Bill’s invitation and will join him for the first week of the journey! We’re crazy about Bill’s passion for MCC Ontario!
