The media’s interest in natural disasters often lasts only weeks but, for the people involved, the impact can continue to be felt years and years down the line.

A little over a year ago, October 4th, 2016, Hurricane Matthew struck Haiti. The category four hurricane devastated farms, gardens and homes in already vulnerable communities.

Within the first 48 hours MCC had responded with immediate aid, later partnering with communities to address the long-term side effects of the hurricane. One year later we continue to work side-by-side to rebuild, regrow and find hope.

In 2018, MCC celebrates 60 years of work with our Haitian partners
