Thank you for helping to make this year's MCC Saskatchewan Relief Sale and Auction an outstanding success!
The 49th annual Relief Sale was held on June 8 & 9 at Prairieland Park, and raised close to $100,000. Hundreds of MCC supporters enjoyed Mennonite cuisine and visited with friends and family - all while raising funds for MCC's work locally and internationally.
Why do we continue to host this event year after year? MCC Saskatchewan's Executive Director, Eileen Klassen Hamm believes that we do it "because we hold this crazy and beautiful belief that we are connected to people around the world, that we want to learn from each other and share our resources with each other."
The MCC Relief Sale is one of the finest examples of how MCC's work is a gathering of many people and our humble gifts for something larger than ourselves to be shared beyond ourselves.
This year's theme was "Rebuilding Lives." From its beginning days in 1920 MCC has been responding when disaster strikes and when families are shattered. At MCC, we pair your generosity with a commitment to work alongside local partners for months or years, not just days or weeks, after a crisis.
For those who helped to make this event come to life, we are thankful. To the Relief Sale committee - your willingness to share your time, energy and creativity breathe life into this event. Thank you to the countless volunteers, the cooks, artists, auctioneers and table washers - we share our deepest gratitude from our MCC colleagues and partners around the world - in Guatemala and Nepal, in Syria and Ukraine, in Congo and Bangladesh.
The gifts given at the Relief Sale will travel far, providing families and communities here and around the world, with relief, development and peace in the name of Christ.
Thank you, and see you next year!
