On August 3, a sculpture honouring the memory of former MCC worker Michael J. Sharp and his UN colleague Zaida Catalán was dedicated in a ceremony at the United Nations in New York City. Titled “Abused Ammunition,” the sculpture was commissioned by Sweden and the United States. Speakers included UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the Swedish Foreign Minister. The 13-minute video of the ceremony includes a moving statement by the artist. The sculpture is part of the permanent disarmament exhibit at United Nations Headquarters in New York, and will be seen during all UN visitor tours.
