Annika Harms, a book lover, friendly cashier and Sam's Place volunteer shares the challenges she has overcome since starting at the cafe and used bookstore. MCC Manitoba Executive Director, Darryl Loewen shares an MCC Centennial update.

Sam’s Place is a café and used bookstore where youth find community as they develop employable skills and gain experience amongst volunteers. It is run by MCC Manitoba in the Elmwood neighbourhood in Winnipeg.


Threads, formerly known as Word and Deed, was established in April 2007. It is a 15-minute radio program hosted by Kyle Rudge featuring the work of MCC in Manitoba and around the world.
