While Walls Are Being Built...Choose Welcome
Though the need is still great, the BVOR program is on temporary hold during the COVID-19 pandemic and BVOR profiles are not available at this time.
The world is currently witnessing the highest level of refugees on record. Over 70.8 million people have been forcibly displaced from their homes and 25.9 million are refugees. Over half of them are children under the age of 18.
How can you help?
As Canadians, we have the opportunity to resettle refugees from crisis into community through the Blended Visa Office Referral (BVOR) Program! Learn how to choose welcome with us today!
What is the BVOR program?
This program is designed to match private sponsors in Canada to vulnerable refugees who have been selected and screened by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Canadian government. Key features of this program include:
- The Canadian government provides financial support for six months of the one year commitment.
- Fast processing: Refugees in the BVOR program have already been screened by the UNHCR and the Canadian government and are ready to travel, once you are matched, the family can arrive within 1-4 months.
All refugees resettled to Canada undergo rigorous security, legal, and health checks. Upon arrival, the refugees will be welcomed and supported through their settlement by their sponsorship group for a minimum of one year.
